Cogeneration

In cogeneration, a power generation process which consists in the simultaneous production of energy and heat from a single source, often biogas, there are different applications of temperature regulation and thermal energy management involved. Tempco has created numerous solutions for cogeneration systems, aimed at maximizing the efficiency of the energy production process.

Cogeneration plants typically use shell and tube heat exchangers, primarily for the pre-treatment of biogas, aimed at eliminating impurities and humidity contained in the organic fuel, which could otherwise damage the engine. Shell and tube exchangers also recover heat from the exhaust fumes of the internal combustion engine, making the most out of the thermal energy generated by the system.

Evaporative towers therefore also find an interesting application in cogeneration plants, which are used here to cool water condensers, offering great efficiency thanks to the ability to dissipate large amounts of heat.
