Cogeneration plants are a special kind of power generation applications, where a heat exchanger and a properly engineered thermal energy management system are able to capitalize on the heat generated during the electric energy production process, in order to obtain simultaneously hot water, for example, optimizing the efficiency of an internal combustion engine. Cogeneration plants from biogas, or using zootechnic waste and production, are in rapid development, representing a big opportunity for energy efficiency, heat recovery and energy saving applications.
